Sonic The Hedgehog had awoken into a dark place, it was like purgatory. He walked around and saw figures who had gruesome things, like one person had a spike ball for a head, another was scorched, etc. Etc. He walked up to one of them.

S: Hey, have you seen Tails anywhere? He’s an orangish yellow fox with two tails?

The Figures gesture for him to follow them, and sonic is than sat at a couch, looking at a television, which clicked on.

The Television showed sonic doing the battle from earlier against Eggman, but he missed an attack and hit his head on a cliff, and he fell to the floor, and bled everywhere.

S: What the HELL was that!?

?: Isn’t it obvious? Your dead.

S: what? No! I don’t die- I never die!

?: I’m afraid you do, and it wouldn’t be the first time either..

The figures stepped out of the shadows, revealing that they are all sonic’s, they look exactly like Sonic, but with gruesome fates.

S: GASP

?: Every time you die, a path is cut off, and the universe rewinds to let us try again, and I’ve seen this counter go down each time. We may be your extra lives, but you, were our last. Every death-defying trick you’ve made, you haven’t always survived it. I’ve seen you fall in spikes, get stabbed to death, every. Single. Drowning.

S: so you’re just gonna sit here until the end of time watching TV!? We’re Sonic The Hedgehog! We’ve destroyed mechs, space stations, and—

?: NOT ALL OF US HAVE! We weren’t as lucky as you.

S: I guess that’s what makes me different. he runs off at the speed of sound

?: Let him tire himself out, they always do.

Sonic then wakes up in front of tails in his workshop

S: AGH!

T: sonic! Calm down it’s alright!

S: *sees bodies all over the place that are him, but he’s imagining them.
