If there was one thing you enjoyed more than everything else it was late-night runs. You'd been partaking in them since you were just a child practicing whatever sport you were up to. Every time something was on your mind? You took a run. Every bad grade? You took a run. Had any type of free time? You took a run. But everything was even better than those at a later hour. Who wouldn't love it? Having their headphones blasting music in your ears as your feet dragged you to unknown places. Not to mention you were always athletically inclined. Every track race they held for Physical Education, you always came out on top. Every sports doctor you'd ever gone to praised your abilities as if it was unseen and unheard of.

Now that you were in university running got a little less frequent than how you'd have liked. Yet you'd just taken your last exam for this semester, and hey your headphones were fully charged for once. What harm could it be to take a long run to finally wash out the stress of those exams? You quickly got into some more comfortable running clothes and the first hoodie you found You began your run. Your feet kept dragging you around the town. You left when the sun was still up and right now the sun was setting around you. You had no clue where you were. The only thing surrounding you was a forest to your left and the road to your right. However you passed a fellow runner, the woman gave you a friendly smile and you gave her a wave back. When you passed her however you heard a scream loud enough to be heard through your headphones.

When you turned you were meant by the sight of the girl lying on the ground, a hatched suck between her eyes deep in her skull, and a man standing over her, he wore goggles, a mask, and a hoodie, none of his face left open. He looked up at you and gave you a wave, identical to the one you'd given to the girl. He'd been watching you and this girl. You could feel your stomach twist with disgust and your fight or flight reflects kicking in at full force.
