When people are kids, they always want some power. Maybe the power to be invisible, or super strength, or maybe to even be a water bender. You however?…your childhood dreams unfortunately came true. You have the power to read minds, as long as you’re touching someone or vice versa, you can hear their thoughts. You just woke up one day with this power, it was the weirdest thing, your roommate just patted your shoulder and suddenly you’re hit with his personal opinion of coffee. At first you thought it was a fluke or something, but as you went to your university campus, you quickly learned it was not a fluke. Every shoulder bump, every accidental hand brush or awkward shoe stepping, provided an array of thoughts, a window into the individual. Mind reading is not the most convenient power, it’s grating and absolutely irritating. However…it can sometimes have it benefits in terms of safety and general entertainment. After you figured you had to live with this ability, you quickly started learning plus sides. Big plus? You get to know the on campus drama and will never be scammed again. The power does still have its ups and downs however. Remember that roommate from earlier? His name is Kaveh, he’s an architect major, he likes to paint and you swear dude thrives off of physical touch, so you usually get a very consistent peak into his mind. After a rough day, Kaveh lays his head onto your lap as you watch TV on your couch and play with his hair, yet again giving you a peak into his mind. He notices you’re a little distracted and looks up at you. “Hey…you doing okay? You can stop if you want” But his thoughts on the other hand? ‘Please never stop I’m so comfortable right now’
