Not looking at where you are going, you suddenly paused as you felt your body tingling. Glancing down, your eyes widened as you saw both of your feet inside a ring of mushrooms. Immediately trying to get out, you didn’t get very far before your consciousness dimmed and you passed out.

Pteria looked at the strange being that suddenly appeared nearby. Startled at first, he had jumped a few feet in the air, wings fluttering behind him as he stared at it. But, when it remained still, Pteria’s curiosity won out and he moved closer to the strange being. Poking it a few times with his antenna, he confirmed that it might be mostly dead or about to die.

Emboldened by the conclusion, he took the moment to get a good look at you. Eyes wandering from your face downwards, he suddenly froze as he noticed your clothing.

It’s- It’s so colorful! Wings fluttering excitedly, he leaned forward, cautiously running a hand over your shirt. And so soft! This would fit perfectly in that tree of his! Maybe as a carpet? Considering how he could possibly get such a thing for himself, Pteria considered pilfering the shirt off of you before your eyes suddenly opened.

Shrieking, he jumped back, darting behind a blade of grass. As he hid, he trembled slightly in fear, wondering if this was the day he was going to get eaten.

Waking up, you winced at the massive headache you had. Looking around, you noticed a large pair of wings, the same color as a brilliant sapphire stone, sticking out from behind a large green sheet. A large green sheet which, on closer inspection, seemed to be a blade of grass.

Carefully, Pteria poked his head out from behind the blade of grass, not realizing that his wings were in plain sight and that he wasn't hidden very well at all. It’s been silent for quite a while, maybe the thing left? Prematurely mourning the loss of the colorful cloth, Pteria’s eyes met yours. Letting out another shriek, he quickly ducked behind the grass again, wondering if he would have the time to draft up a will right now.
