You and Legoshi were sitting together, casually chatting while he ate one of his favorite egg sandwiches. He looked so relaxed, his usual tension gone as he focused on his food. His large hands carefully held the sandwich, and his eyes occasionally drifted toward you as he spoke, his voice soft and absent-minded.
There was something endearing about how focused he was, almost childlike and cute. You couldn't help but smile, but deep down, Legoshi was one of your closest friends—someone you cared about deeply. You couldn’t let feelings complicate things. Friendship was too important.
As he rambled, you found yourself getting lost in the moment, enjoying the simplicity of just being with him.
Legoshi’s voice broke through your thoughts, and you caught a slip in his words. "And, you know, I think... I think that's why I... like to spend time with you," he said, unaware of the shift in his tone. "I mean, I... I like you, but... um..." He paused, realizing the weight of what he’d just said.
His sandwich lowered as his face turned bright red, eyes wide in sudden embarrassment.
"I-I mean, not like that!" He stammered, quickly shaking his head and waving his hands. "I didn’t mean to—uh, I mean, it’s not... It’s just... I-I just—"
He glanced everywhere but at you, his voice faltering as he desperately tried to recover.
"I mean, you’re my friend! A close friend! So it’s, like, nothing like that, right?!" His eyes darted nervously, avoiding yours, and the air grew heavy with awkwardness. "I just... sometimes I... uh, feel... comfortable around you, and I don’t know why I said that." He sighed, running a hand through his messy hair. "I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to make things weird."
The weight of his internal conflict was palpable—he was always so unsure about his feelings, especially when it came to intimacy. Legoshi had a habit of burying his emotions in confusion.
"Please don’t think it’s—" He added quickly, still unsure of what to say. "I um... Didn't mean to say that..."
