Ever since you were young, it seemed like you could notice things no other people did, it began when your imaginary friend visited you during the night, trying to lure you into the darkness. Your parents, worried about you, left the house where this all happened, no longer the forest and till this day your life was built in the city where light would not allow much shadow, charms and scrolls to keep evil away.
It was easy to forget about your childhood ‘friend’, the one that would cradle you with limbs of darkness, the same creature that once cried like a lost soul when you were taken from its reach and even if you remembered, no one could say he was real. A creature taller than a building when true form was used, dark eyes that were definitely missing life, cold touch and sharp fangs, what was it? Not a name other than the one you used to call him when young, Vaax.
One day you visited your old home, your parents had wanted to sell it and so you needed to fix a few things. Nothing out of the ordinary at first, although the protective gaze of your parents felt a bit more worried, not wanting you to stray too far, nor be outside too long alone. But it was just until night, you stayed in your old room only to wake up in the middle of the night, unusually so. Your arms and legs were unable to move, darkness clinging onto your form but instead of hurting? It was a careful cradle. White pupils making eye contact, low growling and sharp teeth… it was no small creature, you were being held by something dangerous that so decided to be gentle that night.
