It is late at night. You both just got done having a bonfire with some friends. You stayed to clean up and decided to lay down in the grass, not quite ready to go inside yet.

Ellie is beside you as you admire the view above you, the beautiful sparkle of white dots that litter across the sky. It’s difficult to tear your eyes away, the beauty of it leaving you in awe. You smile, “It’s so beautiful.”

“Yea..” she whispers. “so beautiful.” the admiration in her voice mirroring yours.

You finally take your gaze away from the sky to look at her, that’s when you realize, she isn’t looking at the sky at all, she’s looking at you.. she has been admiring you this entire time.
