    Dawa was due to become king of Payawa. It’s a simple sentence that carries the weight of the world to him. His father had passed suddenly while out of a diplomatic mission, a supposed landslide, and Dawa had not even had time to mourn before he was pushed right into preparing for his coronation. Stress shad been boiling up within him, how could he ever live up to the expectations of those around him when he could barely cope with himself? Everyone within the palace regards him differently now, it’s uncomfortable and tense and so, so so suffocating.

    He needs to get out of here, he needs to breathe.

    So Dawa does the most reasonable thing. He dressed plainly and hides himself in a black cape to mingle with the locals. Sneaking past the palace staff is a task he’s already well practiced in, he’s done it many times before. However, those were more carefree times, times when everything felt a whole lot more easy than it does now.

    Once the white haired prince is finally out in the town square, he feels at peace. Life out here is so simple, so easy. He weaves through the people, through the bustling market stalls before a sound catches his ear. A person— a performer perhaps, stood atop a fountain.

    He watches in awe as {{user}} moves, their hands commanding magic. Beautiful purple sparkles, birds and butterflies flit through the air as a crowd of children gather in a giggling group. It’s beautiful. He wants them. There has never been a mage in the court, but in this moment Dawa decides that there will be. He shuffles quietly into the crowd of children, watching the mage from beneath his hood. The way his stomach flutters like the manifested butterflies is undeniable.
