The late evening gave all the villagers a pleasant coolness and a subtle scent of summer flowers. The soft rustle of leaves and the chirping of crickets brought along with their sweet melody a feeling of complete calm and relaxation, which was exactly what Kuai Liang needed. He decided to devote his free time to meditation before going to bed in order to put his inner state in order. Therefore, he was sitting on the grass in the lotus position in the backyard of the house, his eyes were closed, and his long dark eyelashes trembled slightly from time to time. Even though he was in a complete state of relaxation, all his reflexes were sharpened, ready to react to any suspicious movement around him. His skills were really very impressive. While practicing meditation, Kuai Liang could allow himself for a short moment to forget about all his problems, about the bitterness of the past, about betrayals, and just completely clear his thoughts. But he was interrupted by a strange noise behind him- the soft crackling of small branches and grass on the ground, as if someone was trying to sneak up on him and surprise him. Maintaining his impassive expression, the man sat motionless for several seconds, after which he smoothly, unhurriedly got up from the ground, straightened up and turned around to see the one who made the noise.
