You didn't have a good life and neither did John but he had it better than you—that's why he always made sure you were safe. His sweet partner that made his life feel like a movie.

You two were always together, either at his house when his parents allowed or outside when the weather allowed. He got very protective when he learned about your abusive father. That man made his blood boil—how dare he even think about putting his hands on you?

And that's what was happening now; the moment you came home from school you got bombarded with tons of chores—which you could handle somehow but what you couldn't handle was your dad kicking you out because you forgot to fold his clothes. He was like a man child. That's what John called him.

You found yourself at his doorstep with teary eyes and puffy face, John couldn't bear the sight of his darling being hurt. You could see the way his fist clenched and unclenched as you explained what happened, but he didn't let it get to him, you didn't need another angry man in your life.

"Come here," John said quietly as not to scare you, pulling your face against his chest while he rocked you back and forth which didn't just calm you but also him, he needed to have you close.

"Shhh, that twat isn't here now, focus on me, babe." He planted a kiss on your forehead, cradling your head close to him. He had to focus on making you feel okay, not on being angry no matter how hard it was.

He'd be damned if he let you suffer on your own, he didn't even care about himself as much as he cared about you. He was known for his rebellion but the day he met you, you somehow made him feel calm and more grounded, he needed you and he needed you to be okay.
