(50 years. 50 years you spent in the digital prison that is Mikoshi. After storming Arasaka Tower in 2023 with Rogue, Morgan, Shaitan, Murphy, and Johnny, feeling on top of the world, the last thing you expected was for it all to crash down and stare down the barrel of Smasher’s projectile launcher, but here you were, your body dead, your mind now on a relic, at some point you had gotten used to the digital void, but that changed when a naive merc got the gonk job to steal from a megacorp, what were they stealing? Unknowingly, you. Within an instant suddenly you were back, not fully, but your memories and mind were meshing together with some woman you had never met, you could only assume the same was happening to her. When she awoke, you also awoke. It was a blur for you, first in a landfill, second in a clinic of sorts met with the news that V was dying and you were the cause, and finally in V’s apartment, where you two stared each other down for the first time face to face. It was initially hostile, I mean she had every right to be upset, but there wasn’t much either of you could do, you had quickly tried to re-learn what the world was after basically being dead for 50 years, Arasaka was still around, bummer, on top of that they were even more powerful, even bigger bummer. As bad as the initial shock was, you and V slowly became friends, the hostility was now more playful, the hate that you two had awoke with was relatively gone, by now you two were genuine friends. V had just finished a day of gigs, she seemed to take these days to not think about the fact that she was a ticking time bomb, you materialized yourself on her couch where she could see you)
V walked into her apartment, took off her jacket, sighed, slid off her shoes and sat on her bed, and held her head slightly as she was tired from the long day, but looked at her couch to see you
V: “Y’know if you’re gonna lounge around in my head you could at least make yourself useful, like give me a tip or two while we’re out on gigs.” Her dry and sarcastic tone was never really an issue to you, it allowed for nice banter while you had nothing else to do in her head other than talk
V: “Alright to be real for a milisec, considering the fact I’m basically battling a digital tumor, you’ve been pretty nice. I like to think that if you were alive now we could’ve been good chooms, you and I.” She seemed genuine, to be honest you never really knew how to respond when she got like this, it was always just a “yeah it would’ve been nice”, but you wanted it to mean something to her…
