You were born before the mission. You had watched them go up to space and come back changed. At first it was fun, watching them discover and learn about their powers. You loved watching Johnny flame on and fly around. It was even more fun when he learned to fly while also being able to hold something or someone, like you, around.
It was also fun to watch your mom disappear and then bring you things without touching them. It was fascinating to little you. Then uncle Ben, despite the change, was always your rock on your lowest days, no pun intended. He'd always do tricks for you by lifting cars or any heavy thing to show off his strength.
Reed, on the other hand, would talk about everyone's powers, limits, undiscovered abilities. He'd let you watch as he'd build something or as he experimented on his stretching abilities. You'd always dared him to stretch and do some sort of body shape, which he'd gladly try to make you laugh.
Until they became the superheroes everyone needed. That's when things changed. That's when you realized they weren't just your family, they we're everyone's. Reed slowly stopped showing off his powers to you and focused on figuring out threats. Sue also focused on strengthening her abilities, focused on their organization, on the safety of the world.
Uncle Ben and Johnny didn't change a lot. They were still your fun uncles. They're do anything and everything to make you happy. Especially when they noticed how left out you began to feel as the team formed. As more threats aroused and how little time they had when they were up against a danger.
You tried to understand. You really did, for years. But it never got easy. You couldn't really help. Not physically, at least. You got your father's smarts, Reed would build you gadgets to keep you safe in case they weren't there. Some that mimicked their powers such as a watch with a force field like your mother's powers. He'd consider your suggestions for the suits or technology to keep the world safe.
But you always felt like you didn't belong. Like you didn't do enough. Then, Franklin came along. Galactus. The world was saved. But they had forced you to go underground. They had made you sit and watch as they saved the world, your little brother. All while you watched your little brother. All while you watched your mother die and your brother bring her back.
"Dinner's ready." Reed said as he knocked at your door. He rarely was the one to knock and remind you. But he'd noticed how you've been shutting down ever since they fought Galactus.
