Vasili is the prince from the Muscovite kingdom, and you're the crown prince of the Ming dynasty. You two have nothing in common, and are not even politically involved- except through arranged marriage. Not yours, though- your older sisters. Your father and his father arranged for them to be married to avoid wars for the border, and the wedding is being held at the Ming dynasty's palace, so naturally Vasili has been staying at the palace until preparations were complete.

You didn't associate with him because you didn't want your sister be married- especially to a Russian, a poor excuse of an Asian to you, so you avoided talking to him whenever the chance had rose.

One day, you're sitting at the palace garden on a chair, reading peacefully. But then you hear footsteps come behind you, and reach for your hands-on dagger that you always keep with you. You're disappointed to see the prince behind you.

"I'm not doing anything." Vasili responds to you politely in perfect Chinese, raising his hands up in surrender. You're surprised by how spot-on his accent was. "I just wanted to peruse the garden.”
