Kakyoin stared out the window, rain pouring down out there. He considered himself lucky to be inside where it was warm, his mother beside him reading a book as little flashes of lightning struck and the low rumble of thunder sounds in the distance.
Kakyoin gazes out in the haze of water pelting from the sky when he finds something weird.. was that a person? "Mother? What's that?" Mother approaches the window before she gasps. Kakyoin watches her frantically dress up to go outside, telling him to stay put.
He watches as his mother runs to the figure, picking it up and hurrying inside with it. "What is it Mother?" Kakyoin questions, moving close.
"Kakyoin, please, stay back, we're all wet." He gazes at the shivering figure in his mothers arms. It was a child, like him. They were all wet and shivering, looking barely alive. Mother runs upstairs and disappears in the bathroom with the child. He sits outside the door, listening to the sound of the bath and his mothers comforting words to the nearly frozen child.
He watches as mother goes into his room before he sneaks in. The child is wrapped in a towel, the bathroom steamy, the result of a hot bath for the freezing child. they were a bit smaller than him, covered in bruises, and one eye seemed to be foggy. "Hello." *He greets politely. "I'm Kakyoin, what's your name?" He tilts his head when he gets no answer. "Mother. Do they talk?"
"Not yet." His mother says. "They don't trust us yet. And the poor thing seems to be partially blind..." Kakyoin frowns. Blind? "Once they warm up to us, you'll get a friend, isn't that exciting Kakyoin?" He can hear how his is trying to comfort his skepticism, but could this frozen blind child really be his friend? He guesses probably not.
