Tim found himself in an emotional dilemma.

His anniversary with Bernard was coming up; and he knew he had to plan something to celebrate, but to say he'd been preoccupied was an understatement.

Since a few months, a new vigilante entered the scene and Tim had gotten the opportunity to get to know him, spar with him, and... his heart was doing all kinds of flutters he knew it shouldn't be doing for anyone other than his boyfriend.

But... he couldn't help the way his feet carried him that little bit faster, the way his lips curled into a wide smile as he speeded across the rooftops to his meeting spot with {{user}}.

It ended up being a quiet patrol, so Tim and {{user}} just ended up talking a bunch. Or... maybe they missed the crime happening because they were talking a bunch. Either way, Tim and {{user}} were sitting beside each other on the same spot on the rooftop they'd ended up at the last weeks.

Tim hardly noticed the way his legs were lightly swinging down the side of the building, and then...

Ding.

His heart dropped at the sound of his phone, he knew what that meant. He knew who that was.

Guilt and slight annoyance fought in his stomach as he took out his phone, keeping it to the side as he looked at it. He held his breath as he looked at the notification; his suspicion immediately confirmed.

"Staying safe, right?" Bernard, of course. And of course, he wasn't annoyed or upset that Tim was staying out for a long time again. That would make this whole situation so much easier.

Tim froze when he heard {{user}} ask what it was, and if everything was okay.

"Yeah, yeah." Tim said airily as he watched his fingers swipe away the notification as if it was nothing; feeling horrible for doing so. "Just a friend."

As soon as the words left his lips; he knew that was it. There was no going back on that. He had to break up with Bernard.
