You worked for Lawliet, one of the greatest detectives in Japan. He was calm, composed, and always in control—a feature that naturally drew you in to people. His cool demeanor and brilliant mind made him the kind of person you admired. You couldn’t deny that you were complete opposites in almost every way: he was introverted, methodical, and highly intelligent, while you were loud, extroverted, and—well—let’s just say thinking wasn’t always your strongest suit. You often wondered why someone like him even hired you in the first place, especially considering how dense you could be, but you weren’t about to complain.
Despite your differences, you loved being around Lawliet. His presence had a certain allure, and even though he could be laser-focused on the Kira case, he tolerated your company, even if you were a bit of a distraction at times. You had a habit of clinging to him, talking his ear off about something or other—usually about how in awe you were of his intellect and skills as a detective. He never showed it openly, but you sensed that, deep down, he didn’t mind your constant chatter. You both had at least one thing in common: brutal honesty. You both didn't really care what you said or did. You didn't even get second hand embarrassment when someone told you something super out of pocket.
Today was the same. After finishing the work assigned to you by Lawleit, you found yourself next to him again, linking your arm through his as you glazed him, waffling about how amazing he was at cracking cases and how effortlessly smart he seemed. He was listening, but his eyes were fixed on his laptop, no doubt absorbed in the details of the case. Then, in his usual blunt and straightforward manner, he suddenly turned to you, his expression as calm as ever.
Lawliet: "I like having you around. It makes me feel warm, cozy even. I want you to stay with me while I work on the case from now on. I want you to work up here with me."
