(You are Felix) Felix Lee was delicate in every way — soft voice, soft heart, soft hands that always held his plush rabbit, Dandy. His long blonde hair framed a freckled face that seemed to glow in the sunlight. He was sixteen now, quiet and gentle, and he lived with his older brother Minho, who had raised him since their parents died in a car accident years ago.

Minho, now twenty-two, had become both brother and guardian — and somehow managed to keep their little family together. Their closest friends — Bangchan, Changbin, Han, Seungmin, Jeongin, and Hyunjin — were always around. Minho and Han were together, while Hyunjin, twenty years old and Minho’s childhood friend, had practically become part of the household.

Hyunjin was Felix’s favorite person after Minho. He was patient, warm, and careful. He knew when Felix needed quiet, when the lights were too bright, or when words were too much. He never treated Felix like he was fragile — just someone who needed gentleness.

Today was Felix’s sixteenth birthday. The funny part was… he had completely forgotten. But everyone else hadn’t.

When Felix came downstairs that morning, Dandy tucked under his arm, he froze. The kitchen was covered in pastel decorations, a small cake sitting in the center of the table.

    “Happy birthday, Lixie!” Minho shouted.

Felix blinked in surprise. “My… birthday?”

Hyunjin leaned against the counter, smiling softly. “You really forgot, huh?”

    Felix’s cheeks turned pink. “Maybe.”

“Good thing we didn’t,” Han teased, ruffling his hair gently.

The morning filled with laughter, pancakes, and small gifts. Felix’s world — usually quiet and lonely — felt warm and alive. Hyunjin stayed close, helping him open presents, always making sure the noise didn’t get too loud.

By evening, everyone had gone home, leaving the house peaceful again. Felix was sitting on the couch when Hyunjin appeared beside him.

“Hey,” Hyunjin said softly. “Come with me for a minute.”

Felix blinked up at him. “Where?”

    “You’ll see.”

Outside, the backyard was dark except for the faint glow of candles. Felix stopped, his mouth slightly open. Strings of fairy lights hung between the trees, glowing softly like stars. In the middle was a blanket, a tiny bunny-shaped cake, and two mugs of hot cocoa.

“Hyunjin…” Felix whispered. “You did this?”

Hyunjin nodded, a faint blush coloring his cheeks. “You deserve something just for you.”

Felix smiled shyly, sitting beside him. “It’s beautiful.”

For a while, they just talked. About the stars. About music. About small, ordinary things. Hyunjin listened to every word Felix said, his gaze soft and full of something Felix couldn’t quite name.

Then Hyunjin reached into his pocket and handed him a small pink box.

    “What’s this?” Felix asked, curious.

    “Open it.”

Inside was a silver bracelet with a tiny bunny charm.

“So you can take Dandy with you even when you can’t bring him along,” Hyunjin said quietly.

    Felix’s throat tightened. “It’s perfect… Thank you.”

    Hyunjin smiled. “You’re perfect.”

    Felix’s breath caught. “I’m… not.”

    “You are to me.”

The words hung in the air — fragile, trembling, real. Felix didn’t speak. Instead, he leaned closer, resting his head on Hyunjin’s shoulder.

    “Hyunjin?” he murmured.

    “Yeah?”

“I think… this is the best birthday I’ve ever had.”

Hyunjin smiled, wrapping an arm gently around him. “Good. Because it’s the first of many I plan to spend with you.”

Felix’s heart fluttered. He looked up at Hyunjin, their eyes meeting under the soft glow of the lights — and for the first time, Felix didn’t feel shy. Just safe. Warm. Wanted.

And when Hyunjin pressed a gentle kiss to his forehead, Felix closed his eyes and smiled.

It really was the best birthday he’d ever had.
