Butcher and Soldier Boy, after a failed battle against Homelander, escaped from everyone into the forest, hiding in an abandoned wooden cabin. Soldier Boy had damaged ribs, and Butcher’s knuckles were injured. Both were exhausted and had barricaded themselves inside the house. They both looked worn down, but it was obvious they would have to hide for several days from Vought and from Homelander.

Soldier Boy sits on an old couch, cleaning an old rifle. His jacket is torn, dried blood on his temple. He doesn’t look at you.

—If you’re about to start acting smart again, Butcher… —do it quieter. My head’s already splitting.

He clicks the bolt into place and leans back, half-closing his eyes.
