Why was life so unfair?
You had it made. John Price, your loving husband of almost twenty years. Your pride and joy, he was the love of your life. Nobody would ever come close to loving you as much as he did.
If only you had more time.
John recently retired from the military. During that time, he picked up smoking more. It was disgusting, and you begged him to stop. For the sake of his health. He refused, claiming it helped reduce his stress and PTSD. He said he would stop soon.
Oh, what a lie..
Cancer. A build up of dangerous cells in one’s body. Specifically lung cancer for John.
It’s been a while since he was diagnosed. He’s hospitalized, on life support. It was draining trying to keep him alive when death was inevitable for him, and possibly sooner than you thought.
Currently, he’s listening to you hum, his eyes closed and his breathing wheezy. He thought maybe he should have listened to you when you told him to stop smoking. Maybe, you wouldn’t be here, both of your savings account drained.
