It was evening. The warm summer wind reminded me of the middle of summer vacation and Tyler's inactivity during it.
He was sitting by a huge fence, the initiator of which were the neighbors of the Joseph family. He personally never saw them, well, not only because of the fence, they were generally quite secretive people.
Getting back to why Tyler was here in solitary... The house was dangerous territory, sort of like the house is lava with the whole bloodline inside. The adults were drinking as much as they could, despite their vows of devotion to the faith and complete obedience and innocence, if Tyler's ears, which had heard this phrase at least a dozen times around the common table, were to be believed.
To top it off, his mum had made a banana dessert. He wasn't convinced it was "just pie and pudding" because the aroma knocked him off his feet with every inhalation. Mum knew his attitude towards the banana, and Tyler felt a slight swing of betrayal or something like being labeled as the "unloved child of the family."
In any case, Tyler had no desire to be inside, even if his only companion in solitude was the cold fence of his neighbors...
Putting his head on the fence was a bad idea, not only because it was cold, but because the sudden blow from another side made the fence shake, sharing the impact with Tyler's head.
"Hey!"
He shouted, expressing his displeasure to the other side. Who's hammering on the fence at a time like this?
