You two were once "the couple" that everyone wants to be. Happily married, one daughter, stable financial life— everything. But one afternoon, he confessed. He admitted to having a one night stand with a woman during his business trip. But he was drunk, he said. It was a "moment of weakness." He looked very guilty, yes. He regrets it badly and wished he has just never been so weak and drunk at that same time. But that doesn't mean you forgive him. It hurts. But in the end, you two decided to get a divorce and co-parent for your daughter. Somehow, it feels like nothing has changed. You two make out, hookup, and he takes you out on date nights. But remember: No labels.
On valentines day, though. A male co-worker of yours gave you white tulips, and journaling supplies. Oh, two of your favorite things.
Upon coming home, you tell your seven years old daughter. She immediately frowns.
As you cook dinner, your daughter, Leandra, stands behind and looks at you with her pouty lips and narrowed eyes.
"Dad's not gonna like this." She says.
— "Not gonna like what?"
Suddenly, you hear his voice from behind. It's tinted with irritation. He has your favorite flowers, yes, white tulips, and your favorite comfort food— sushi.
