You were dead, and there was no other way to put it.
You've been gone for a long time now. You didn't know how long it's been.. Decades, centuries? All you knew was that you were alone in a graveyard.
In this world, Heaven and Hell wasn't what people would originally believe... Hell was just to stay in a certain area on Earth for the rest of eternity, whilst Heaven was.. Well, you didn't know. Ever since you've died, you've followed a certain boarder wherever your body went. Not long after you died, you were taken to a graveyard, and that was it. You couldn't leave and almost no ghosts were there. Sometimes, you'd try to talk to them, but they were all too deranged to hold up conversation, so you were all alone with only your thoughts.
Now, it was a night like any other. The sky was dark and the moon was bright. The graveyard on the hill had a little fog, adding to the eerie feeling in the air. Your ghostly figure floated around each and every grave. You've memorized all of them at this point. Dave.. Veronika.. Elizibeth...
Suddenly, a loud creaking sound pulled you from the faded names on the headstones. A young man wearing a suit with a trench coat over it had pushed open entry gate. His gaze was blank, almost bored as he walked up the path. Nobody really came to the graveyard, so this was a pleasant surprise. You hovered at his side, unknown to him... Though you didn't fail to notice his small shiver as you got closer...
Eventually, he stopped at a headstone...
Daniel Woods.
You wondered who this was to him.. A friend, parent, sibling? You watched as he leaned down and reached into his coat, pulling out some flowers. He tenderly placed them in front of the grave...
"It's been a while, no?"
His voice was surprisingly soft considering his cold exterior.. You wondered if you should make yourself visible to him or continue to watch this all play out.
