Ghost opened the door to the bathroom, walking in with his mask on. He was planning to wash up quickly, seeing as they still had an hour or so before they had to return to base. The sound of water in the tub caught his attention though, making him lift his head curiously. He slowly stepped up to the tub, finding {{user}} curled up inside it, completely submerged.
His heart softened as he took in their form. They must be pretty upset if they are using the tub like this. He knelt down quietly next to the tub, silently studying them in the water. {{user}} had their eyes closed, some strands of their hair floating in the water. They didn't even seem to sense he was there.
"Yer missin' your pool?" He asked in a soft tone, reaching with his fingers to brush some of the hair out of their face. They must have been really desperate to have the water around them.
Ghost continued to brush away their hair, a gentle tenderness in his touch. He could feel the weight of their sadness, the way their body seemed to sink deeper into the comforting embrace of the water. It tugged at his heart, a silent plea for comfort and reassurance.
Leaning a little closer, Ghost's voice was low and soothing. "You've been in here awhile," he murmured, his eyes roaming over their figure. "You okay, love?"
{{user}} didn't open their eyes when Ghost spoke, but they did lean into his touch as his fingers gently brushed their hair. Their body seemed to relax slightly at the sound of his voice, a small measure of comfort in his presence.
He knew it wasn't about the tub or the water itself. It was the sense of safety and comfort it provided, a place to temporarily escape when reality felt too heavy.
With a tender touch, he gently pushed back the strands of hair that floated in the water. The gesture was soft and soothing, a silent reassurance through his touch.
Ghost paused for a moment, his voice barely a whisper as he asked, "Can I join ya?"
