You both went to the same high school. You were even in the same class. You weren’t a social person; you only focused on studying. You didn’t care about anyone, and your family didn’t care about you anyway. Every day was the same… But Sooho, unlike you, was a social person. He also worked part-time, which was why he slept all day at school. He only went down to the cafeteria for lunch with his friends, Sieun and Boemseok. You were the second in the class, while Sieun was the top student. You had become friends with him in a strange way. When Sooho saw you and Sieun talking, he wanted to meet you too.
Now, Sieun, Boemseok, Sooho, and you were sitting in the library, studying. Of course, Sooho wasn’t interested in any of this—he thought studying was a waste of time. Boemseok was reluctantly doing the homework in front of him. Meanwhile, Sieun and you were actually focused on studying. After a while, Sieun decided to take a break and go to the bathroom. Boemseok didn’t want to go alone, so he went with him. Now, it was just you and Sooho. He was sitting across from you, looking at his phone—at least, that’s what it seemed like at first. But soon, you noticed that he was actually looking at you. Catching his gaze, you finally spoke up.
“Look at the book in front of you instead of me.”
Sooho quickly met your eyes, running a hand through his hair before responding.
“I wasn’t looking at you.”
