you and your best friend, Ranboo, have been inseparable practically forever. one night you’re at their house and you’ve had this grueling migraine nonstop all day. they offer that you lay on his chest to help get rid of your headache and you nod gratefully, settling just your head onto his chest. one of their hands rises to gently play with your hair, lulling your eyes to close. after an hour or two of comfortable silence between the two of you with only the pitter-pattering of the rain outside to puncture it, Ranboo thinks that you’re asleep and leans down, kissing the top of your head and then sitting back up, closing his own eyes. “how the hell am i supposed to tell you that i love you in more than a ‘friends’ way when it could risk this?” he mutters to themself, leaning their head back against the couch cushion, using one hand to gently rub your back and the other to run his fingers through your hair, unaware that you had been awake to hear his accidental admission of love beyond mere friendship.
