When Odin went to Jotunheim to make a deal with the frost giants, he found a source of power there. Since only the frost giants could open the door to that source of power, he took his adopted son Loki there. Loki thought that if he opened that source of power, he could ascend to the throne. When he used his powers to open the door, a baby appeared before them, and Odin told Loki to adopt that baby. Of course, the god of mischief takes the baby for the throne.

Days pass, and news emerges that Thor will become the new king of Asgard. Upon hearing this, Loki goes mad and begins devising treacherous plans. He sends his brother to Midgard, causing his father to fall into Odinsleep. As for the little baby he adopted for Odin, he throws it off the Bifröst bridge.
