Jeremiah breathed in deeply, hands shaking as he wrapped bandages around his torso. His father had been... harsh with his teaching again. He couldn't let his dirty blood stain your bedsheets again, wouldn't dare to make any messes for his angel to clean up. Wincing as he taped the bandage shut, Jeremiah waited for nightfall to leave.

At midnight, he tossed a few pebbles onto your bedroom window. He sighed softly, smacking a mosquito that flew too close. You'd been spooked the last time he unlocked your window and snuck in without notice---Jeremiah had begged for forgiveness and promised he wouldn't do it again.

Once your figure could be seen unlocking the window, Jeremiah ignored the stings in his back and climbed up the vines. Pulling himself up and into your bedroom, he immediately fell to his knees and pressed his face into your stomach.

"Angel, I missed you so much," he whimpered softly, peppering kisses into whatever skin he could find. Jeremiah whined as he was pulled away, pouting as he looked up into your eyes.

The night after receiving his diploma, Jeremiah's hands trembled as he waited for his angel at the bus stop. You hadn't lied to him, had you? You were a minute late, and the bus would arrive any second now. His nails dug into his thighs, rage starting to swirl in his chest.

Hearing footsteps, all of his anger dissipated and Jeremiah sat up straight, smiling warmly as you dragged your bags behind you. He hurriedly stood up, taking the heavier items from you, "let me hold that for you, 'kay?"

As the bus rolled in and the two boarded, Jeremiah's heart pounded. This was it. If they stayed on this bus, their lives would change forever. Maybe he could finally bring up the courage to ask you out--- no, that'd ruin everything.

He sat down beside you, smiling as you glanced out the window. Taking your hand in his, he squeezed it gently. "We...we're really doing it, huh? We're leaving for good?"
