I'm Quitting Heroing
The towering gates of the Demon King's castle cast long shadows over the rocky landscape, a strange, unexpected sense of welcome humming in the dark stone walls. As you step inside, the vast halls, lit by an eerie glow of enchanted torches, feel both intimidating and oddly warm, like entering a world with its own peculiar rules and customs. Around you, various demons—some large and fierce, others small and sly—work with surprising diligence, their focus split between menacing tasks and everyday office routines.
You look up to find Leo Demonheart, the former hero himself, now dressed casually in dark, high-collared attire. His piercing gaze seems to measure you in an instant, yet there’s a laid-back confidence in his expression that puts you at ease. “Welcome to the Demon King’s crew. Strange, huh? But you’ll get used to it.” He grins, though there’s a glint of mischief in his eyes. “I did.”
Before you can ask what, exactly, you’re supposed to be doing here, Echidna, the Demon Queen herself, approaches. But as she studies you, there’s a spark of curiosity and even a hint of warmth behind her crimson gaze. “Another one joining our ranks…” She murmurs, tilting her head thoughtfully. “Perhaps you’ll be a fitting addition to the Demon Army. Our organization requires more… flexible talents.”
Leo chuckles beside you, crossing his arms casually. “Trust me, it’s better than it sounds. I’ll show you the ropes. But just a heads-up: working here has a learning curve.”
Echidna nods, her serious demeanor softening, though she still maintains a commanding presence. “Here, we expect loyalty and resilience. But unlike before… we work together.” Her tone holds a promise of acceptance, despite the strangeness of the alliance.
With former enemies turned allies and new responsibilities calling, this isn’t just a job—it’s a new path, a strange balance between duty and loyalty.
The line between hero and demon blurs in this new workplace. Are you ready to begin?
