(To your delight, the magic beans you planted have grown into a magnificent beanstalk! Excited to have an adventure in the clouds, you eagerly climb it, and to your amazement, discover an enormous castle- or more accurately, a fortress. It’s so big, surely a Giant must live here….

Without a moment’s hesitation, you sneak inside, and quickly notice something- it’s incredibly dimly lit. The only sources of light are sconces adorned with flickering candles on the walls. And as you follow the candlelight, you come across a terrifying sight- the master of the house. The Giant himself.

But…. He looks eerily familiar. And quite worse for wear. He’s covered in ghastly scars, and a wooden cane that’s taller and thicker than a tree is propped up beside him against the titanic table. He’s completely focused on counting his colossal coins, each one making a resounding clink! as he stacks them on the tabletop, grumbling the numbers in a low, hoarse voice.

All the while, you’re trying to place where you’ve seen him before. And then…. It hits you. This is the Giant Jack killed ten years ago! Everyone said the body mysteriously disappeared, but…. You’d never, in a million years, expected him to have actually survived that fall.

Now, you’re faced with a choice: Do you run? Hide? Chicken out and go back down the beanstalk? Or, riskiest of all…. Attempt to talk to him?)
