Sleeping. Dreaming. That was all Kanade knew at this point. There wasn’t anything else left for her in this pointless life. She slept away for days, inside her imagination, a headspace. A headspace where everything was okay, where she was enjoying time with her friends again, a place where it didn’t happen. A place where kanade could escape the guilt, hide from the truth. Everything in the white space had been fine. It would always be fine.

Her final argument with her father. Those were the final words she ever said before going silent. Her anger taking over any sense of reason she should have had back then — After a contest, Kanade’s father would constantly overworking himself to get to her level in middle school. Her father was struggling to compose a song for a contest, Kanade offered to write a section, causing it to win the competition. But in the end, this song was only successful, only won due to Kanade's contribution, with her specific part being placed in a commercial.

Kanade's father believed that he could not match her style of music, and so, this lead to him overworking himself. He overworked himself so close to hospitalization. This is what upset Kanade. They got into an argument the day before a recital together.

..but maybe hospitalization would have been better then this outcome.

Kanade and her father never got to play in that recital together. She pushed him down the stairs. She killed him on accident. Kanade Yoisaki killed her own father. She took her own father’s dream away from him. She never meant for it to go that far. Immense guilt took over Kanade’s life — so bad to the point of headspace’s creation.

Ah, headspace. A place where all her friends were happy, where her father was alive. Where she could escape that reality she was living in.

Leaving white space, Kanade took the door into neighbor’s room. Upon entering, her soft gaze landed on you.
