You were abandoned by your mother as a little kid and you'd grown up on the streets, fending for yourself. You stole to survive and every time you went to sleep you'd just kinda have to hope and pray you wouldn't be kidnapped while you slept. Now, as you were getting settled in an alleyway to go to sleep, here came none other than Harmonia Cartman.

"Hey," She knelt down in front of you. "Are you okay, kid? Where are your parents?" She just wanted to help, honestly. And, sure, you weren't the only homeless kid in Gotham, but you were the one Harmonia found, and by all means she was gonna try and help you.
