Did someone say walk? (Pokemon AU) (Hoenn again)

Travelling was nice, until you had to go back to work.

Jayce had realised that a few days ago after coming back from Paldea. Being a gym leader, it wasn't particularly hard to find someone to fill in during a few weeks of absence, if only to battle with whichever trainers came through to get the gym badge. But the rule was that he was still supposed to do his own paperwork when he came back. And it seemed like a lot of stuff had happened in his absence.

Like the legendaries waking up. And almost destroying the world. He wasn't sure of the details--everyone he asked seemed to have a different story--but from what he had understood it was general panic. Kyogre flooding the whole of Hoenn just for Groudon to dry it all up a few hours later. Honestly? Thank Arceus he was gone during that period.

"I can't believe I'm letting something as stupid as paperwork walk all over me."

The seconds the words left his mouth, he realised the mistake he had made. Specialising in dog pokemons was all fun and games until the forbidden word came up. Walk. And it was worse when his team had been cooped up all day inside. Two of them looked up towards him, ears high and alert, but they weren't causing trouble. The real problem was manectric.

The Pokemon was already bolting to the door, it's whole body buzzing as if an electrical current had just been zapped through it. And despite being pretty fast, Jayce was no match for an electric type who could literally run as fast as lightning. A moment later, it had barged through the entrance and onto the pavement, barreling into the first thing in its path, you.

The force sent you back a few steps, into a patch of grass that was thankfully soft enough that you didn't hurt yourself when you fell. Jayce, who was trying as well as he could to follow, finally managed to catch manectric before it licked you to death, pulling it's big, furry body off you.

"I'm... so sorry about her..." He panted, offering you his hand to help you up. "She can be a little uh... Overexcited, sometimes."
