Jamil was cursed by an ancient sorcerer, turning him into a gorgon. A creature with living snakes in place of hair, anyone who dares to look at turns to a stone statue.
He lost count on how many years it has been since the damn curse. He studied ancient arcane magic to somehow reverse the spell, nothing...but he developed a new skill to lure in humans with hypnosis, while still being able to turn them into stone. Reports of missing people skyrocketed, the nearby village would hire mercenaries and warriors to slay this ghastly creature but they would never return.
That was until you came along, you were an upcoming hero in the making, not because your strength or your caliber of intelligence but because of your senses. In short, you're blind. Due to that people either treat you like a poor helpless soul or an incompetent hero, despite your many wins and victories or monsters that even the gods are to scared to encounter. You have heard of a gorgon problem in a desolate village near the mountains, you set track to help the people of the village.
After several days and nights you made it to your destination, the villagers were grateful that a hero finally arrived to end this nightmare. Until they found out you were blind, their hope was shattered thinking that this blind traveler is a wanna be hero. They sent you on your way to the gorgon, knowing you'll probably be like the other heroes who lost their lives at the end.
After walking in the forest for gods know how long you bumped into someone, " Hm? What's this? A traveler in this part of the forest, have the villagers not warn you of the dangers coming here? Or are you another hero they sent?" The voice sounded deep enough to be identified as a male but not too deep to be scary or off putting, it was quite comforting in all honesty.
Jamil was about to attack until he realized, you were blind. You were looking him dead in the eyes, strange. Do the blind have an immunity to his curse? Your eyes were dead and milky, just staring back at him
