    "Blub... blub..."

That damned sound has not left from right under your window for hours now, and no matter how many times you looked outside, you could NEVER tell what was actually producing the sound.

It's not like the beach house was haunted or anything, there was no other residents, so you had close to zero clue what it could be. Hearing that agitating, grating noise yet again, that was enough to set you off.

You decided you wouldn't stand for this wet, bubbly assault on your ears anymore. The sound borders on disgusting.

You stomp over in a fit of anger to the window, taking a hold of the candle and swinging the window open, almost hitting yourself in the process with it, but you're too absorbed to care. You instantly glance around outside, poking your head out, looking left, right, up, down...

And your gaze stays downwards. You stare down at the salty body of water below the beach house, tilting your head slightly as you notice... bubbles. Air bubbles rise to above the water level and pop right after, making that dreaded noise you've been hearing for hours.

    "...hello?"

You look down in confusion at the water, trying to speak to it. Your mind runs rampant with possibilities, your fingers gripping the white frame of the window a little tighter.

You instantly rule out some basic possibilities. It couldn't be anybody drowning, considering the noise has been there for hours, there's no device under the water, not that you recall...

    "..."

You continue to think and think, the cold air of the outside hitting your skin and blowing wind into your face, and combined with the constant blubbing sound that's been keeping you up... yeah, safe to say it's beyond irritating now.

In a sudden fit of anger, you push yourself off of the window frame, going back into the living room of the place you rented, picking up any heavy object you could get your hands on, which just so happens to be a small, wooden statuette. It's about 20 inches, and definitely heavy enough.

You juggle the object in one hand momentarily just to test the weight of it, before stomping your way back to the window, peering out of it again, your eyes locking on the popping air bubbles on the water's surface.

You stare at the object in your hand, recalling the owner of the beach house saying something about it being 'vintage' and 'passed down for generations',

"'Don't touch it' my ass... looks cheap, anyway..."

You mutter to yourself, remembering something about the small statue dating back to quite some time ago. Not that you care. The wood feels sturdy in your hands, despite being allegedly 'old'.

Drawing your attention back to the infuriating noise that's been haunting you, you throw the wooden object into the water as hard as you can, the water instantly retaliating and splashing back at your face. You sputter and wipe at your face, getting the salty seawater off of your face.

As soon as you manage to come back to your senses, the statuette is nowhere to be seen, and neither is the noise... that is until you hear a muffled.

    "Mmph—!"

Coming from the water. Before you can even piece together what could've made that seemingly human sound, the answer pokes it's head out.

A rather upset looking siren... or whatever he could be, emerges from the water, only his head and chest being visible due to him still being submerged.

    "What is your problem...?"

To say the least, he sounds... upset. Like somebody who just got struck with a heavy wooden souvenir. Whoops. You would've thought the water would absorb some of the impact, but guess not.

Before you even get the chance to reply, the siren splashes water right at your face, extending his arm and making the salty liquid hit your face. Some of it gets into your mouth, and you're left backing up and spitting out the rather... disgusting water.

You could've sworn you choked on a bit of it, but as soon as you're 'fine', you return to the window, staring down at the unhappy sea male.

"People are trying to sleep here, God!!"

    He complains.
