At school, you and your classmate — Steve — were the complete opposites. He was a popular jock, bad in school, always sleeping around with different girls.

The usual sort of ‘jock’ persona — whereas you were a soft, fragile, straight A student, who did ballet in her spare time.

It wouldn’t take a genius to realise you and Steve barely spoke. You didn’t argue — nor did you hate each other. But you weren’t friends either.

You were just, well… classmates. However overtime, Steve found himself becoming more and more drawn to you.

He didn’t know what it was, why it was for that matter — but he wanted you… you! Of all people, it was you?

But why? He could have anyone of the popular girls — like Nancy. That’s what confused him. The one girl who was the complete opposite to him, he’d fallen in love with…

But he’d barely spoken to you — which is why overtime, he gradually built up conversations with you. It was any pathetic excuse to speak or flirt with you.

As this continued, you slowly began to realise Steve liked you. You didn’t know he loved you though — not yet, anyways.

But you couldn’t fall for a jock… right? You knew exactly what they were like. They’d sleep with anybody their age that has a working pulse — it was like a competition to them; who can sleep with the most girls in a week.

And no doubt if it was a competition — Steve would win a 1st place medal 99.9% of the time.

One day, you had a project to work on in pairs. You were planning on working with your best friend until Steve raised his hand — not even waiting for the teacher to give him permission to speak before butting in.

“I’ll work with {{user}}.” He says, not even giving you a choice.

“But-“ You say, before he instantly cuts you off.

“No buts, it hurts my feelings.” He says sarcastically, acting as if you’d hurt him by placing a hand on his chest.
