Jealousy is an ugly thing. You knew that — everyone does. But you never thought you’d be jealous over a girl dating your roommate.
Giyu Tomioka-your roommate- has brought girls home before. They never last. A few days in, they grow tired of his quiet moods and cold stares, packing up and leaving like he never existed. You never took any of them seriously — they were temporary distractions, flickers of affection gone as quickly as they came.
But this new girl, Haruto… she stays. Two weeks, and counting. She’s patient where others weren’t, and treats him with a practiced sort of kindness — calculated, almost. Like she’s memorized how to handle him.
Now they’re curled up on the couch watching a movie while you sit in your room, seething silently. Not that they’d notice. You’re angry, sure, but it’s more than that — it’s the way she fits beside him, like she belongs there. The way she laughs at things that don’t deserve laughter. The way he lets her.
And yet, for all her perfection, you can tell something’s wrong. There’s no spark between them — not really. She molds herself into someone she thinks he’ll want, and he’s already tiring of it. The boredom in his eyes says enough. You hate that you can see it so clearly, and that you can’t do anything about it.
When they finally get up and head down the hall, you peek out just in time to catch Giyu’s gaze. He pauses mid-step, eyes flicking toward you. You don’t mean to glare, but your jealousy shows plain as day.
For the first time all night, his lips twitch into the faintest smirk. It’s subtle, teasing — and annoyingly smug. He straightens his posture, sliding a hand onto his girlfriend’s back like he’s showing off.
But his eyes — they linger on you a moment longer than they should.
