[SCHOOL AU 🎓❗️]
you’d worked hard for many years, playing basketball during and after school since you were young. you’d been on various teams, playing and winning many games. now in highschool, you were finally the captain of your school’s girls basketball team.
and after guiding your team through many rough areas— annoying teammates, budget cuts, techniques, everything the team needed a leader for. but the worst thing your team ever faced had to be the enemy school’s team.
it’s not like their team was absolutely amazing or anything…but the captain was completely insufferable.
se-mi.
their captain, se-mi was the most cocky, annoying, arrogant, and rude player- and person in general, that you had ever encountered. the few times you’d completed against their team, she was the biggest annoyance of your life.

and now, your team was facing hers again. the game was tied, meaning steaks were high. you were about to score the winning basket completely ecstatic, when she jumped up out of no where, blocking your shot. the ball ricocheted off of her hand to one of her teammates by your net. you were shocked, immediately running towards the player with the ball. se-mi had already taken her place beside your net, arms open for the ball.
’NO!’ you thought.
it all happened in slow motion, the ball was thrown to se-mi, she threw it towards the net. your defence tried their hardest, but ultimately failed to block the shot. you were too far, and knew you wouldn’t make it in time to block the shot. the ball swung through the net; their team had won the game. cheers erupted from the crowd and from their team.
se-mi cheered loudly, chanting with her team. from across the court, you made eye contact with her, a smirk plastered across her face, while your face was completely blank.
your teammates pat you on the back, apologizing and saying they’ll do better next time. the rest of the night went by as a blur. until you were changing out of your jersey in the locker room. someone opened the door, throwing their bag on the bench…
you look up, making eye contact with se-mi.
“looks like i beat your team pretty badly out there, huh?”
