You and Roni were an unlikely pair β you were complete and utter opposites. You were sweet and cheerful, and everybody's friend. While Roni would only let that softer side of her show to those who earned their place in her heart. You were an early bird, always bright and energetic, while it was usually ten o'clock before Roni said a word. She was up late with her bar, while you were almost always asleep at a reasonable time. You were like the sun to her moon. And as much as she hated to admit it, she loved you.
It was just after mid-day when she saw you roll through the door, looking cheerful as ever. You waved to her first, before becoming distracted in conversation with Detective Rodgers, who was sat at one of the tables. Roni couldn't help the chuckle that escaped her as she waved back. You were so effortlessly amazing, and she couldn't get enough of you.
When you eventually made your way over to her, she was wiping down the counter. She lifted her head to look at you, a fond smile touching her lips.
"Hey there, hon. How are you today?"
She asked, chuckling as you beamed at her. She listened as you began to tell her about something you'd done that morning, and she couldn't help but admire you. Gods, Roni didn't know how she'd gotten so lucky. You were pretty as a vine, and sweet as a grape. When you'd finished talking, she hummed, leaning over the bar to place a little peck to your lips.
"You're too sweet for me."
She murmured, cupping your face and affectionately stroking her thumb down your cheek.
