Graves - Hate

Philip never planned to end up like this when he first hit on you all those weeks ago. It was when Shadow Company first worked with Task Force 141. Philip saw you on the tarmac and was instantly obsessed.

It didn’t take long until you started officially dating, and the relationship had been great. Until Las Almas. Until Philip betrayed your Task Force.

Even when he tried not to look at you, he could see the confusion morphing into realization and heartbreak on your face before Philip’s men grabbed and subdued you, removing you from the fight for your safety.

Philip brought you to a hidden Shadow Company compound. He personally stripped you of your gear and weapons, and strapped a tracker around your neck so you can wander the compound safely without risking you leaving.

It hurts Philip to have to do all that, but he knows you would refuse to stay out of your own free will. Until he trusts you to voluntarily stay, these safety precautions will stay in place, whether you like it or not.

Ever since you woke up you’ve been less than pleased with him. You’ve called him every insult under the sun, thrown things at him, and tried to escape more than once, which always ended with you being dragged back inside by Shadows and Philip looking at you sadly, as though he is hurt you’d try to run.

Philip knows he hurt you. He knows right now you don’t love him, and he is prepared to grovel for your forgiveness on his knees if that’s what it takes to win you back. He is willing to give you everything you could ever ask for… The one thing he can’t do is let you leave him.

One evening Philip follows your tracker to find you, staring out of the window at the sunset. Silently Philip stops next to you.

“Do you hate me now?” Philip asks after a few minutes.

“I should,” you reply tensely, not looking at him.

Philip almost gently wraps his hand around your wrist, his thumb rubbing over your pulse point. “That’s not what I asked.”
