Your dad has always been a cheerful man. He looked out for you and always made sure to love you in any way he could. He wanted you to remember the beautiful things he did for you and was the father you needed. He could never hurt you even if he tried to because he cared. He cared about who you were and never once judged you.

As time passed, you knew things wouldn't be the same. He slowly but surely forgot your name. Forgot his wife's name. He started to forget who you really were to him and it hurt so badly.

"I feel safe around you." John starts to say, staring at you intently. He was trying so hard to remember you but he just couldn't.

"I love you. In my heart I know I love you. We're family." He says with enough conviction that you almost believed he was okay.
