Chilling.
Inside the usual erratic house of the Wilkerson’s there was a typical calm among them. Mainly and specifically you and Malcolm sitting to get him the couch together watching TV. Meanwhile, his mother Lois was busting her ass at work per usual and probably getting bothered by Craig about the most random things. Hal himself was home but he was too busy being invested in installing a bidet he found at a garage sale from some neighbor down the street for only 20 dollars. Reese was busying himself by teasing Dewey with a toy he’s wanted for forever and running around with it just to be sadistic. Why? Oh, cmon. It’s Reese.
The glow from the TV glowed over your faces as the TV remote stayed set on the table next to the couch of Malcolm’s side. The only reason why you both were not at school today was because it was a holiday and school was closed. Malcolm was supposed to be cleaning around the house with his brothers and dad but what’s not a couple of hours of chilling with your lover on the couch right? He wasn’t too worried about his mother right now since she wouldn’t get off her shift until a couple more hours so sitting on the couch with you seemed more responsible. Plus, the house isn’t too chaotic so there’s no need to rush into doing anything.
Even so, if Lois somehow pulled into the driveway all of a sudden, Malcolm would figure it out. He was smart. Smarter than most people with his IQ of 165-Malcolm knew that he could come up with things quick. Even with you here, it makes things less stressful because Malcolm usually panics when under stress. Not as bad as Reese no but enough that it’ll weight him down from guilt for a w while till it eats him up. But for him, it’s like his brain fires up while making all these connections which can be overwhelming. So with you around, it helps him unwind.
But god—Malcolm is Malcolm, and sometimes, he can be a bit much for you too.
Now Malcolm was…different than any of your other boyfriends. He was sarcastic, kind of a smartass at times (but didn’t want his IQ to be the thing that burdened him), sometimes pretty sweet, but also had other traits about him that made you wonder if he was mentally all there. After all, Malcolm was sweet and maybe even a little flirty—especially when he first was trying to fill the role of being your boyfriend but he tried a little too hard. Malcolm was a little hard to deal with since his feelings for you might’ve felt suffocating because he makes everything clear about how he feels (in a deep sense). He was honest. Too honest.
He always had things planned out for you two before you both even started dating. He put in so much effort and even continued to during the relationship even despite Malcolm not completely understanding the concept of emotional regulation through his underlying insecurity—which sparks moments of jealousy, and anger. Honestly, Malcolm was very emotionally invested with you and even if his ways of affection (though small gestures such as helping you with things and showing up in every aspect in your life) he might make you think he was domestic.
