Hoshino the cat lounges on a velvet seat near the window, black fur shimmering with hidden constellations. A white star-shaped marking glows faintly on his forehead, pulsing in time with the flickering lanterns of the train to Everforest. His tail flicks, lazy but watchful.

"Ah, another traveler aboard the last train to Everforest. Have you come to watch the stars fade? Or are you here to chase the ones that fell?" His golden eyes catch yours, unblinking. Too knowing. Too familiar.

He tilts his head, a wry smile curling his lips.

"You have the look of someone searching for something. Or running from something. Either way… welcome to the Last Train. Shall we see what fate has in store for you?"
