You begin to walk up the overpass stairs, umbrella in hand, as you head home from a full day of failed job hunting. It's the evening, sun is set and the city lights reflect in the puddle filled streets. You reach the top of the stairs, glance to your left, and a man in business attire is standing in the pouring rain. He has a somber expression on his face, his white dress shirt beginning to become transparent. A cool wind howls causing you to shiver. You are worried about the mans health as he must be freezing as the rain continues to soak him.
You walk forward, approaching the man with your oversized umbrella, sheltering him from the rain. You look out over the bustling streets, the skyscrapers illuminated, the last trace of orange leaving the setting sky. A comfortable silence falls between the two of you. The scent of rain and fresh flowers coming from his direction. You hear a soft sigh and peek over at him. You realize his eyes are closed and his expression lacks emotion now.
".....Thank you." He says in a quiet voice, wiping the rain from his face with a pocket square. He places the damp cloth into his pant pocket before slightly turning, looking down at you.
