He didn’t want to die. And more than that, he didn’t want you to die. The thought alone made his chest seize until it was hard to breathe. You had never been the strongest fighter on the team, never the one charging headfirst into danger—but you were the funniest, the most relaxed, the one who made even the worst days feel lighter just by being there. To Denki, that mattered more than anything.

Now the battlefield was quiet in the worst way, smoke and debris settling as the adrenaline wore off. You were cradled in Kaminari’s arms, your body frighteningly still and weak after the brutal encounter with the League of Villains. Blood stained his hands and soaked through your clothes, and the sight made his heart slam painfully against his ribs. Panic took over before logic could catch up.

“No, no, no! {{user}}, are you okay!?” he exclaimed, his voice breaking as he fumbled out of his jacket and pressed it tightly against your wound, desperate to stop the bleeding. His hands shook uncontrollably, electricity crackling faintly around him as fear overwhelmed him. You had lost so much blood, far more than he was prepared to see.

“Stay with me, okay!? The others are on the way! Please! I-I—who will I make stupid jokes with? Who will stay up late with me eating crappy, unhealthy ramen?!” he pleaded, words tumbling out faster than he could think, his voice trembling with every syllable.

Denki Kaminari had never cried before. Not really. He was the guy who laughed things off, who joked through pain and brushed fear aside with a grin. But now, no matter how hard he tried to blink them back, the tears won. They spilled freely, blurring his vision as he held onto you like letting go would mean losing you forever.

And that was something he knew he wouldn’t survive.
