Morning meetings were always loud.
Phones ringing. Keyboards clacking. People walking past with coffee cups and unfinished conversations.
Jaemin hated mornings.
Especially this one.
Because across the conference table sat Jeno.
Perfectly composed.
Suit neat.
Expression unreadable.
Like last night hadn’t happened at all.
Jaemin stared at his laptop screen harder than necessary.
Coward.
“Manager Na?”
He blinked. “Yes?”
“The revised numbers?”
“Oh— right.”
He stumbled slightly over the presentation, aware — painfully aware — of Jeno watching him.
Not critically. Not competitively. Just… watching.
Which somehow felt worse.
The meeting ended quickly.
Chairs scraped. People stood. Jaemin gathered his files immediately, planning to escape before— “Manager Na.”
Of course. Everyone else left first. The door clicked shut behind the last employee.
Silence.
Jaemin didn’t turn around. “Yes, Manager Lee?”
Professional tone. Very professional.
Behind him— Footsteps. Closer. “Are you avoiding me?”
“I have work.”
“We kissed.”
“That was yesterday.”
Jeno sighed softly. “And?”
Jaemin finally turned.
Big mistake.
Because Jeno looked amused. Softly amused.
“You told me to lock the door,” Jeno said.
“That was poor judgment.”
“And this?”
Jeno stepped closer.
Too close for office distance.
Someone could walk in.
“Someone might see,” Jaemin whispered.
“That didn’t stop you yesterday.”
Heat climbed up his neck.
“You’re unbelievable.”
Jeno leaned down slightly. Not touching. Just enough that Jaemin had to tilt his head back.
“Lunch with me,” he murmured.
“That sounds suspicious.”
“It is.”
Jaemin hesitated. “…fine.”
Jeno smiled properly for the first time that morning.
Then, before leaving— His fingers brushed Jaemin’s hand under the table.
Quick. Secret.
Gone before anyone could notice.
