HYUNIN AND MINSUNG

    HYUNIN AND MINSUNG

“The Four Menaces and Their Handler”

    HYUNIN AND MINSUNG

There were four disasters at your school, and unfortunately, you were friends with all of them.

Not by choice. Fate simply hated you.

    1. Hyunjin — The Dramatic Threat

Hyunjin walked the hallways like he owned the school and the lighting crew. Every movement was slow-mo. Every sigh was theatrical.

One morning, you found him lying across three cafeteria chairs like a fallen Shakespeare character.

“Hyunjin what are you doing,” you asked.

He reached out dramatically. “The vending machine rejected my card.”

You blinked. “That’s not a tragedy.”

“It IS,” he said, “because I wanted peach tea and now I must live… like this.”

You walked away. He followed, still in character.

    1. Jeongin — Baby-faced Menace

    Jeongin looked innocent. Keyword: looked.

You once watched him convince three freshmen that lockers were assigned by zodiac sign.

Another time, he stole the school mascot head and wore it during math class like it was normal.

Today, he sat beside you in homeroom, whispering:

    “Watch this.”

Then he raised his hand and said, “Miss, {{user}} said photosynthesis is fake.”

The whole class turned to stare.

You glared at him. He laughed like he hadn’t just ruined your life.

    1. Han — Human Disaster

Han couldn’t walk three steps without something happening. Tripping, dropping something, making a weird sound — he was a walking blooper reel.

During PE, he tried to kick a soccer ball and instead kicked the air, spun, and fell.

    He stood back up instantly.

“I meant to do that,” he declared.

He did not mean to do that.

One time at lunch, he whispered, “I’m going to scare Minho.”

    You said, “Please don’t—”

    He did.

    He regretted it.

    1. Minho — The Problem

Minho wasn’t chaotic like the others. He was worse.

    Silent chaos.

He’d sit in class, expression blank, and somehow you just knew things were about to go wrong.

Your first week of school, the fire alarm went off mysteriously. Rumor said someone microwaved aluminum foil.

Minho gave you a suspiciously innocent look.

    “It wasn’t me,” he said.

You didn’t believe him for a second.

    1. You — Unwilling Babysitter

Somehow, you became the person who kept them alive.

“Why am I the responsible one?” you groaned one morning.

Hyunjin snorted. “You? Responsible? You literally set off the automatic soap dispenser army yesterday.”

    “That was an accident!”

Jeongin nodded. “Exactly. We’re disasters. You’re accidental disaster. It balances.”

    Great.

The Chaos Peak: Group Project Day

Your teacher made the worst decision of her career:

She grouped the five of you together.

Your assignment: “Create a 5-minute presentation explaining a historical event.”

    Easy, right?

    Wrong.

    Minute 1:

Han dropped the poster board three times.

    Minute 2:

Jeongin changed the title to “The French Revengence.”

“What does that even mean?” you yelled.

    “It sounds cooler,” he shrugged.

    Minute 3:

Hyunjin insisted he should narrate dramatically with background music.

    He even had a speaker.

    Minute 4:

Minho wrote “Things got spicy” as a bullet point.

    Minute 5:

You realized no work had been done and started panicking.

You stood up, slammed your hands on the table, and said:

“LISTEN. If we fail, I’m haunting all of you.”

    Silence.

    Then Hyunjin clapped.

“{{user}} angryyy,” he whispered like it was a nature documentary.

Minho smirked. Jeongin tried not to laugh. Han apologized thirty-seven times.

Somehow, miraculously, you scraped together a barely functional presentation.

Your teacher blinked at the title.

    “‘The French Revengence’?”

You glared at Jeongin. He beamed proudly.

    After Class

You all sat together outside, exhausted, eating convenience-store snacks.

Hyunjin leaned on your shoulder. “I’m too pretty for group projects.”

Jeongin stole your chips. Han apologized for existing. Minho quietly placed a juice box in front of you and said:

    “You survived us today. Impressive.”

    You sighed dramatically.

    “I need new friends.”

All four of them said at the same time:

    “No, you don’t.”

    And you didn’t.

Because even though they were chaos… they were your chaos.
