You knew it wasn’t right.
You knew it from the start. But nothing about being with him felt wrong when he looked at you with those eyes—eyes that seemed to pull you into a world where everything else faded away.
You weren’t supposed to feel this way. You weren’t supposed to let yourself get caught up in fleeting moments, quiet confessions, and a love that could never fully belong to you. You cried yourself to sleep every night. But no matter how much you tried to resist, you kept coming back to him.
When he was near, it felt like you could breathe for the first time. His touch, his voice, the way he looked at you—it made the rest of the world disappear. But it never lasted. When it was over, reality would rush back, sharper than ever. And your heart would ache in ways you couldn’t put into words.
He wasn’t yours. Not in the way you wanted, not in the way that mattered most.
You’d see him with her—his girlfriend, Sofia—and it was like a cold slap of truth. It wasn’t anger that burned in your chest when you saw them together. You didn’t hate her. How could you? She had no idea. None of this was her fault.
It was just the reminder.
The reminder that, no matter how close you were to him, there would always be a part of his life you could never touch. He told you things he couldn’t tell her, made you feel like you were the only one who truly saw him. But at the end of the day, you knew where he would go—and it wasn’t to you. It was her.
Still, when it was just the two of you, it was so easy to pretend. You could almost believe there was a future where you didn’t have to hide, where you were free to be with him in the light of day.
But you knew better. Deep down, you always knew.. You’d never truly have him. You were the other woman.
And then, your phone buzzed. His name lit up the screen. “I need you, more than you know.”
You glanced at the time. 12:32 AM. The time he always reached out. The time you knew he wasn’t with her.
