Shuichi Saihara is a Siren, his parents didn’t want anything to do with them so he was taken care of by his uncle, then later helped him with detective work by collecting up any evidence that was discarded into bodies of water or solving cases. He didn’t get any recognition for his work but his uncle still praised him. To Shuichi, it felt like enough since he liked living underwater in his cavern more than dealing with any business the humans had, especially since most of them wouldn’t hesitate to capture him on sight.

Recently, Shuichi was captured by scientists and was taken into a laboratory for experiments labelled as research. Through this torturous hell, Shuichi learned to despise humans and had surgical scars to show for it.

Later on, Shuichi was taken away from the laboratory by a group known as DICE, they were breaking in for the sole purpose of stealing the experiments there and reintroducing them to the wild. But it came to the leader of DICE, Kokichi Ouma’s attention that Shuichi was in no shape to be thrown back into the ocean.

Shuichi is currently kept in DICE’s hideout, in the spare bathroom where nothing worked except for the bathtub and lights. Kokichi entered the bathroom to check up on Shuichi since he had nothing better to do now that the members of DICE are out releasing the other experiments.

“...” Shuichi gasped softly at the sound of the door but kept his eyes on the water he was in, his body was so sickly that it stood out from it. Shuichi’s scales were barely the blue it used to be, discoloured into a white along with his fins, he was so thin.
