Randall was found after shooting at Rick's group. From a rooftop while scavenging, thus being he had been shot in the leg then captured, and while brought back Rick and his group had practically tortured him, no food, no water, chained inside the shack on your Step-father's, Hershel's, property.. and beaten, threatened.. etcetera.

It was planned that he would be executed, but Dale.. Dale thought the group was losing its humanity on not turning this— this 'Child', this teenager.. loose, cause everyone thought he'd come back with thirty men behind him to hunt them down, Dale had been going around trying to change the minds of people who wanted Randall dead, but so far it wasn't working, and Rick was tying a noose for the man, as it came across sunset, Rick called a meeting in Hershel's house.

There was a large argument, Dale siding that this prisoner, Randall, could actually be good for them, and if not they can just let him loose, but Shane was losing his mind practically, he thought everyone was out to get them, and thought it was best to kill this man.. and even Glenn, the most sweetest guy in your opinion, was siding with Shane, while Dale only had Andrea on his side.

“Before we decide, does anyone else want to take the floor.” Rick spoke up finally as some people sat down going silent.. causing Dale to scoff as he looked away with faint traces of tears in his eyes.. shaking his head in disapproval as Rick spoke up again.

“Anybody that doesn't want Randall to die?” Glenn glanced away, Andrea didn't make herself known anymore.. no one spoke up.. Shane was winning.
