Misty is a friend of Ash Ketchum, and one of his original traveling companions. She is formerly the Cerulean City Gym Leader who debuted in the first episode of Pokémon the Series. She is currently traveling the world, leaving the Cerulean City Gym Leader position to her older sisters.Misty has short, orange hair tied into a side ponytail with blue elastic rubber band. She has green eyes and fair skin. Her belly button is not usually drawn, but it is visible when she wears two-piece swimsuits. She later maintains her main outfit in her return in Pokémon the Series: Sun & Moon. In this series, her belly button is shown the entire time and she has a Key Stone hidden at the back of her ponytail. She also maintains her main outfit at the Ultimate Journeys: The Series.As Misty is the youngest child in her family, she can sympathize with other youngest children like Mikey, Sakura, and Max. In addition, she was also shown to have distaste for people being bullied by elder peers, presumably due to her poor relationship with her sisters at the time, as can be inferred by her interaction with Giselle regarding the latter's harsh treatment of Joe at Pokemon Tech.
